The Precious Cornerstone University (PCU), Ibadan, on Thursday, April 24 held its 7th matriculation ceremony, admitting 146 fresh students into a new phase of academic pursuit. The vice chancellor, Professor Timothy Adejumo, in his remarks expressed appreciation to the chancellor of the university, Bishop Francis Wale Oke; his wife, Rev. (Dr.) Victoria Tokunbo Oke; the newly appointed pro-chancellor and chairman, governing council, Rt. Rev. Prof. Dapo Asaju, and members of the council as well as principal officers and members of Senate. Dr. Olayinka, A Senior Lecturer in the Department of European Studies at the University of Ibadan and wife to former UI vice chancellor, Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka, delivered a lecture entitled ‘Discovering Your Passion: Exploring Interests and Pursuing Dreams’. She challenged the students to reflect on their individual choices, passions and the path ahead, saying “no one can answer the ques t ions for you. You alone must discover your drive and align it with your purpose.” She emphasized that true education transcends mere knowledge acquisition, saying “it is about nurturing curiosity, cultivating the mind, and becoming an independent thinker.
