PCU Welcomes NUC Teams for Postgraduate Resources Verification

Two National Universities Commission (NUC) teams visited the prestigious Precious Cornerstone University for the Postgraduate resource verification of the University’s Business Administration, Computer Sciences, Accounting, Microbiology and Biochemistry programmes. The first team, led by Prof Vincent Ezeabasili, came on Monday, 5th May, 2025, and was divided into 3 groups, consisting of Prof. O.J. Oyeniyi, accompanied by Mr. Akinlabi Akinola from the NUC for Business Administration; Prof. Adesina S. Sodiya, accompanied by a NUC Representative, Mr. Saka Suleiman Jimoh for Computer Sciences; while a NUC Representative, Mr. Rabiu Ibrahim, accompanied Prof. Ezeabasili for Accounting. The second team, led by Prof L.N. Edosomwan, which came on Thursday, 8th May, 2025, consisted of Prof. Nasiru Usman Adabara with Mr. Levite Bisong, as the NUC Representative for Microbiology, while Mrs. Tunrayo Jolaoso of the NUC accompanied Prof. Edosomwan for Biochemistry.

In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Timothy Olubisi Adejumo, intimated the NUC teams on the core vision and mission of the University, which is to be a world-class institution, aiming to raise individuals to excel in their disciplines and embody virtues of honesty, service, and leadership through quality education. He expressed that the University was founded on the principles of faith-driven education, where minds are sharpened and souls are nurtured. The Vice-Chancellor stated that while the University premises at Oloagun are meant for the running of the Undergraduate programmes, there is the University annexe for the proposed Postgraduate programmes located in the serene environment of Olubadan Estate, Ibadan, just about 15-minute drive.

On behalf of the first NUC team, Prof. Edosomwan thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his visit to their hotel the previous day, which, according to him, was a rare gesture that he had not experienced before in his long years of service. He also expressed his delight at the institution’s stance on character building and spiritual soundness of the students, which is lacking in most tertiary institutions nowadays. Similarly, Prof. Vincent Ezeabasili appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the Management team for the job well done for the conducive learning environment, and the friendly atmosphere already put in place. He assured that the verification process would be thoroughly done.

Present at the NUC resource verification exercise were the Vice-Chancellor and other Principal Officers of the University, among whom were the Registrar, Mrs. Morenike F. Afolabi, the Bursar, Mr. Ruben O. Ayanwale, the Librarian, Dr. Afolabi A. Olajide, the Chaplain, Pastor Engr. Adesoji Adeniji, the Dean of the Postgraduate School, Prof. James Adegoke, the Director of Academic Planning, Mr. Joshua Arinola, the Heads of Departments concerned and the Public Relations Officers.
