Dr. J. A. Awokola (Head, Department of Computer Sciences, Precious Cornerstone University) presented the report of the committee set-up to review the obsolete Joint scheme of Work in ICT/Computer Studies and Data Processing for all Primary and Secondary Schools in Oyo State. In an elaborate event that took place on Wednesday 20th April, 2022 at the Conference room of the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology which had the Honorable Commissioner (Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdul-raheem), Permanent Secretary (Alhaja Aminat Atere) and several Directors of the Ministry in attendance, the new Joint Scheme of work was officially handed over to the Commissioner and Permanent Secretary by Dr. Awokola. A presentation was also made on the recommendations of the committee to the State Government through the Ministry. This presentation tried to highlight specific action steps to be taken by the Government in a bid to ensure this new Joint scheme of work is maximally utilized.
It should be recalled that this committee was set-up about a year ago with another PCU Staff (Dr. Okere) also being a member of the committee. The Commissioner appreciated the committee for a job well done, and promised that his office will swing into action to see to it that the new Joint scheme of work is adopted and also all recommendations made to the Ministry is looked into for further implementation. He also assured that Precious Cornerstone University (which has been a cardinal driver of this project) will be at the forefront of all activities that will emerge after today’s presentation. Congratulations to the PCU community for another win. PCU is making positive impact on the Society.
