The NUC Accreditation Team, Principal Officers and Computer Science Department Representatives
The National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation team, on Wednesday, visited the Computer Science department of Precious Cornerstone University to inspect facilities as well as the course curriculum to mention a few for quality control and to verify the implementation of standard practices in the University.

The team, led by Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello was received by the Vice Chancellor Professor Julius Oloke, the Principal officers, Director of Academic Planning – Dr Francis Adeyemi, Dean of Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences – Dr. Mrs Abeke Ayoade and the HOD Computer Science – Dr. Jimmy Awokola.

Professor Bello explained that the inspection was not to discourage universities but to encourage the good work done and strengthen areas that need to be improved to uphold quality standard of Tertiary education in Nigeria.

The Vice Chancellor appreciated the visit and explained that the University is set on course to raise students that are sound intellectually, spiritually and entrepreneurially. He said “I ensure that the standards are met per time and to this we have various committees to ensure quality control is right on track”

After the inspection, the accreditation team commended the University on staff welfare, facility quality as well as training quality. They further stressed that the University should not rest on her oars but should keep staying on the course of enriching student’s spiritual, academic and social experience.
The Accreditation Team on an inspection tour round the facility of Department of Computer Science
The team was led around the facilities by the Dean of Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences, Director Academic Planning, Head of Department of Computer Science as well as some staff members of the department. The inspection covered the library services, examinations and records, faculty environment, software and hardware facilities and course curriculum.
