B.Sc Cyber Security

The overarching objective of the B.Sc Cybersecurity programme is to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills required to protect people, computers, networks, programs, data and other critical infrastructure from attack, damage or unauthorised access. 

It also tries to evolve a broad strategy for human resource development that encompasses educational, cultural, social and political development such that graduates can possess the unique cybersecurity ability to protect digital assets, guard critical infrastructure, and business ecosystem amongst others.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Admission shall be open to all, irrespective of gender, race, religion or political leanings. Applicants must satisfy all faculty and departmental requirements. A prospective candidate must not be less than 15 years of age.

Admission into the undergraduate programmes of the University would be either through the Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or by Direct Entry (DE) as organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). However, 90% of applicants will be admitted through the UTME, while the remaining 10% will be by Direct Entry.

UTME (JAMB): Candidates applying for admission into the University through JAMB UTME must have a minimum score of 120 in relevant subjects. Post-UTME screening will be conducted for all interested candidates to ensure that only the best students are admitted as well as to maintain high educational standards.

O’Levels: The candidate must have not less than five credit passes (at one sitting) or six credit passes (at two sittings) in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) or General Certificate Examination Ordinary Level (GCE, ‘O’ Level) organised by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) or the National Examination Council (NECO), including English and Mathematics. Five Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and other relevant courses for all categories of students seeking admission is mandatory.  


Direct Entry: As from the second phase of development, General Certificate Examination Advanced Level (GCE A’ Level) holders with a minimum of 9 points plus ‘O’ Level English and Mathematics, OND with a minimum of credit pass; or graduates of recognized related programmes may be considered for a direct entry. Candidates need Two ‘A’ Level passes.
