Chaplaincy

Welcome to the official page of the University Chaplaincy!

Precious Cornerstone University, located in the heart of Africa’s largest city—Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria—is a faith-based institution associated with the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, led by His Eminency Rt. Rev. (Dr) Francis Wale Oke. This world-class university, established in 2017, is founded on two main pillars: Academic Excellence and Spiritual Soundness. The office of the University Chaplaincy is structured to nurture the spiritual lives of both students and staff across the entire University Community, ensuring the ethos of Spiritual Soundness, a fundamental aspect of Precious Cornerstone University’s foundation, is thoroughly taught and adhered to by everyone for the glory of God.

Given that one of the founding Ministry’s missions is to make the world a better place through the practical application of the gospel of Christ, an institution of this caliber serves as an ideal means to achieve this goal. Attention is placed on the spiritual development and leadership training of both students and staff to prepare them for global relevance. To accomplish these goals, the Chaplaincy engages with students and staff not only in group fellowship at the chapel but also on a personal level through high-quality teaching of God’s word, interactive fellowship, prayer, and interpersonal exchanges to ensure a maximum impact.

The weekly life- transforming experience includes the Early Morning Glory sessions every Mondays to Saturdays (6am to 7am),  vibrant Sunday Worship Services, and Mid-week Community Services every Wednesday, gathering all students and staff for fellowship. Additionally, micro-fellowships in various hostels are conducted to foster unity and instill the fear of God throughout the community.

Recently, there has been a notable increase in chapel attendance, with students showing more decency and friendliness, guided by the word of God, walking in the fear of God, and adhering to the University’s rules of engagement.

The ultimate goal of the Chaplaincy office is to foster a Christian community from which the next generation of national leaders will emerge, thus making a global impact and bringing glory to God.
