In a bid to search for sustainable solution and a new wave of research-driven innovation that would help to meet the demands of our ever-increasing population, Precious Cornerstone University has organized her first annual symposium and workshop themed “Recent Advances in Biotechnology for the transformation of Bioeconomy and the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals” between 24th and 26th February, 2020.
The programme which attracted two eminent professors from India, Professor Ashok Pandey and Professor Ajit Varma, also had in attendance distinguish Professors and Ressearcher with immeasurable contributions to the development of Biotechnology, worldwide. Several industries and research institutes, including the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), were also in attendance, which gave way for collaborations with our great citadel.

Several plenary sessions were held with over 70 research works discussed under several subthemes, including medical biotechnology, agricultural and food biotechnology, environmental biotechnology, industrial and chemical biotechnology, etc. This served as an eye opener for young scientists to recognize the necessity of carrying out research that would contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and the new agenda of Sustainable Development Goals.
